Dear Hockey Enthusiasts

Thank you for the interest shown and the excellent attendance at the hockey presentation on Wednesday evening. For those enthusiasts who were unable to join us, here is a link to the presentation:

Bishops Hockey 2013 Vision Presentation (This file is 1.1MB in size)

As I said in my introduction it is people that make dreams and plans come to fruition. I would like to make special mention of the Hockey Committee, especially Laurie Gardener and Leith Stewart, who arranged the presentation and to Yolanda Raman who coordinated all the arrangements for the function.

Hockey at Bishops has a quiet yet strong financial supporter. A very big thank you to invited guest, Andrew Golding, representing the Pam Golding Property Group. As a major sponsor and supporter of hockey at Bishops over the years we continue to appreciate their ongoing support. It must be made mention of their vast contribution to the flood lights which are installed on the Woodlands Astro-turf. What a difference these have made not only to hockey but also the energy it has created surrounding the future development of the sport at the school.

Finally, thank you to the current SA squad members fresh from the London Olympic Games for coming along; namely Austin Smith, Lloyd Norris Jones and Rhett Halkett. It was an honour to host them and be able to chat and have Austin say a few words to the guests about their experience at the London 2012 Olympics Games. The excitement shown by them after the presentation was an endorsement as to where hockey is moving to under the excellent guidance of Warren Wallace and Murray Anderson with the help of the newly formed Hockey Committee.

Well done to Luke Scott Architects on the exciting design of the new Woodlands Pavilion. Final thanks to the College Council and the OD Union for arranging the funding and for their contribution to the “big picture” which will include a novel development of a Centre for Excellence at the College, a permanent home for the OD Union and the School Museum.

Should you require contact details for The High Performance Coaching, The Princess Academy, Simon Martin & Bruce Jacobs Indoor Hockey and PSI Hockey, please contact Yolanda Raman or Laurie Gardener.

Kind regards
